Bio

I am a seasoned film educator, editor, and filmmaker with a career spanning over two decades. My academic journey in the world of cinema began with a Post Graduate Diploma in Editing from the esteemed Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, in 2004. This rigorous training laid the foundation for my deep passion and commitment to both the art of filmmaking and the education of aspiring filmmakers.

My journey in film education began at FTII, where I served as a faculty member and later as the Faculty-in-Charge of the Video Editing Department. During my tenure, I played a pivotal role in shaping the curriculum, teaching subjects such as film history, basics of filmmaking, and the aesthetics of editing. I also organized numerous workshops and seminars, which significantly contributed to the professional growth of future filmmakers.

My journey in academic leadership continued as I took on roles such as the Head of the Editing Department at LV Prasad College of Media Studies, Trivandrum, and the Academic Head at Cochin Media School, Kochi. My work as an academic consultant, guest lecturer, and external expert further broadened my teaching horizons, allowing me to influence film education across several leading institutions in India.

Alongside my academic career, I have worked extensively in the film industry as a director, script consultant, casting director, and associate director on various projects. My editing work has been recognized at international film festivals, and I had the honour of serving as a jury member for the Kerala State Film Awards in 2019, under the chairmanship of the legendary filmmaker Kumar Sahani.

As I step into a new role in my career, I am eager to bring my wealth of experience and passion for cinema to a new generation of filmmakers, continuing to push the boundaries of film education and production.
